After all the chapter competitions were completed, chapters submited the individual scores for the team that would have gone to state next from each chapter (in some cases the second place team, in other chapters the third place, etc.). These were on all the questions in the Sprint, Target and Team Rounds.

The results from all those teams were put into the scoring program and the team with the highest score after tiebreakers earned a trip to the State competition.
